Pilbeam's little sportscar, the MP98 'Virage', has been designed to race in the Speed UK, VdeV and several other series. This endurance FIA CN Class car builds on Mike Pilbeam's extensive sports prototype experience and has made the Virage an affordable and stable racer.

The Speed UK and VdeV series pitch CN endurance cars against each other in a race lasting 3 to 6 hours. The original French VdeV series races on many of the classic European tracks including Paul Ricard, Magny-Cours and Estoril. Speed UK races largely to the same VdeV regulations around classic British tracks, dropping into Europe at Assen and Spa.

Late in 2012, the very latest version of the MP98 was delivered to the Ecurie Zoo team in South Africa. It was comfortably victorious in its two outings to date; the East London Grand Prix Era Revival 2-hour event in December 2012 and the inaugural African Six-Hour race at the Phakisa International Raceway near Welkom in February 2013. The team are using the MP98 to gain valuable experience ahead of taking delivery of our new MP100 LMP2 racer for an assault on the Le Mans 24 Hours in 2014.
